Built space, open space, cities, ranches, state lands and their component spaces make up our physical experience as humans. Understanding how these places can be best planned and managed can help us achieve success with them and in them. Places change and evolve over time, and that change and evolution can occur with or without intention. It can also occur with or without consideration of the historical and physical context of the place. Planning for a successful future involves intention, context consideration and an understanding that these places were here long before we were and will be here long after we are gone.
Part of good stewardship is understanding that places were here long before we were and they will be here long after we are gone. How those places are managed, how they change and what they can be in the future are decisions we make now. We provide expertise to help you make those decisions, including data collection and analysis that can help you understand trends that are impacting you, that could impact you in the future.
To bring the Old Taylor High campus back to life we negotiated a planned development that could accommodate some of the existing site and building features that did not conform to current codes. We managed the rezoning and building permits, provided drawings and coordination for the replacement of the removed original windows and made sure the project met the timeline for the state and federal historic tax credits. Apartments and tenants began opening in March 2019.
